The world’s leading trade fair for general aviation celebrated its 26th edition this year.
What was launched forty years ago with a handful of gliders and motor gliders as a small aviation exhibition at a motor show has meanwhile developed into the world’s most important meeting place for the industry. Numerous exhibitors have remained loyal to AERO right from the start, many new ones have been added over the years and have contributed significantly to the successful development of AERO Friedrichshafen.
The AERO also benefited from the aviation location Friedrichshafen, which was built in 1900 by Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, and the booming UL industry. In 1995, the business aviation sector was introduced for the first time at the AERO. In addition, in the following years the trade fair significantly expanded its range of avionics, maintenance and services.
The move to the new exhibition halls at the airport followed in 2002, further boosting AERO’s growth and making it the world’s leading exhibition of general aviation innovations that it is today.
