Track maintenance and renewal are essential for the safety and comfort of passengers. These inevitable operations are mostly carried out using railway machinery and, when possible, civil engineering equipment. Specialized work trains, such as ballast cleaners (for removing used ballast), ballast regulators, replacement trains, and diesel locomotives for maintaining track gauge clearances, are used for these tasks.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s important to note that rail networks were not developed in a unified manner worldwide. Therefore, the track gauge (distance between rails) can vary greatly depending on the country or railway company. However, in France, the gauge complies with the European standard.<\/p>\n
Diesel repair locomotives travel along the railway tracks to repair track gauge clearances. But how can these locomotives be refueled as close as possible to these areas?<\/p>\n
Another requirement from SNCF was to have the ability to relocate these fuel distribution modules while avoiding the need for underground installations at different sites.<\/p>\n
