The objective was to bring the product closer to the end user, improve responsiveness, and reduce environmental impact. Let\u2019s take a closer look\u2026<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"461\"><strong data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"461\">A regional depot to improve responsiveness<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"872\">In the Arve Valley, companies specializing in bar turning and precision machining rely on<strong> industrial lubricants<\/strong> for their daily operations. To improve logistical responsiveness, Total Lubricants aimed to create a regional depot capable of quickly delivering bulk products, with next-day (D+1) delivery times for local manufacturers, while reducing the carbon footprint associated with multiple IBC transports.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"1261\">The carrier Transports Mermet, a partner of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">TotalEnergies<\/span><\/span> Lubricants, was already delivering these products in IBC format to industrial clients and had a building capable of hosting this infrastructure. The challenge was to transform this space into a<strong> multi-product storage<\/strong> and distribution depot, while integrating technical, safety, and operational constraints.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1427\">The project involved building an industrial installation capable of managing multiple lubricant references while ensuring fast distribution. The objectives were to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1768\">\n<li data-section-id=\"8skove\" data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1502\">Set up a<strong> multi-product storage capacity<\/strong> adapted to industrial volumes<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"aukbq9\" data-start=\"1503\" data-end=\"1575\"><strong>Ensure bulk distribution<\/strong> via tanker trucks, more efficient than IBCs<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"128f4rr\" data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1640\">Guarantee product separation and prevent cross-contamination<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ntaoyw\" data-start=\"1641\" data-end=\"1697\">Integrate the installation into an existing building<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1to43zt\" data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1768\">Reduce on-site intervention time to limit disruption to operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1818\"><strong data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1818\">A tailor-made installation for industry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2068\">To meet these requirements, we designed an installation comprising four compartmentalized tanks, totaling<strong> eight compartments with a capacity of 15,000 liters<\/strong> each, as well as two spaces for 1,000-liter IBCs dedicated to storing specific references.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2415\"><strong>The tanks<\/strong> were installed on<strong> containment bunds<\/strong> to<strong> secure storage<\/strong> and<strong> protect the environment<\/strong>. The entire system was designed by our engineering office to optimize product flow, with an<strong> automated distribution system<\/strong> allowing the selection of the lubricant to be loaded into<strong> tanker trucks<\/strong>, along with an<strong> anti-mixing system<\/strong> ensuring product quality.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2417\" data-end=\"2610\">The equipment also includes a<strong> loading arm for trucks<\/strong>, a<strong> piping network dedicated<\/strong> to each product, as well as safety features such <strong>as stairs, guardrails, and access walkways to the loading dome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2617\" data-end=\"2653\"><strong data-start=\"2617\" data-end=\"2653\">Anticipating to better integrate<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2655\" data-end=\"2987\">The project began well before the construction phase with<strong> a 3D scan of the building<\/strong>, enabling precise modeling of the existing structure and integration of space and access constraints.
