How to refuel cranes autonomously ?

As a French specialist in lifting and handling, MEDIACO Levage is firmly established with 85 agencies across France, as well as in Switzerland and Germany. The company offers the sale and rental of mobile cranes, truck-mounted cranes, and aerial work platforms. Their core business is lifting and handling with mobile cranes, and they also have a transportation division.

Refueling these machines at public service stations is often problematic due to their size (mobile cranes from 35 to 1200T, crawler cranes from 50 to 600T, etc.), making access difficult. Additionally, with a fleet of approximately 1,000 machines and rising energy costs, the company is implementing a controlled fuel consumption management plan.

Some of their agencies are equipped with underground tanks, which our client wishes to replace with an environmentally friendly above-ground fuel storage and distribution solution.

To address this issue, MEDIACO relied on our expertise as a Designer and Manufacturer of above-ground fuel storage solutions and chose our EUROBOX solution.

Thanks to our containerized design, our mobile service stations do not require any underground construction work, making them more cost-effective and environmentally friendly compared to buried tanks.

Our design office has developed and manufactured an above-ground fuel storage & distribution station that perfectly meets the client's specifications. Our engineers first optimized the request by offering an insulated AdBlue storage and distribution solution to prevent temperature fluctuations and maintain product quality.

Built with ribbed pre-lacquered galvanized steel panels guaranteed for 10 years against corrosion, this EUROBOX service station offers dual storage: 40m³ of diesel and 3m³ of AdBlue. Designed to be scalable and compliant with future ICPE regulations, this containerized station is equipped with a single-walled tank and a retention basin.

The unique feature of this refueling station lies in its configuration, which resembles public stations, thanks to front-facing distribution, with 2 fuel nozzles and 2 reels with 8-meter hoses installed to facilitate fuel dispensing. Equipped with an ALX management system, fuel dispensing is activated by a user-recognition badge, allowing drivers to refuel at any of the group's agencies while enabling MEDIACO to better control fuel consumption.

The distribution cabin of this container service station also serves as a technical room, secured by a rolling shutter.

With its custom design, the mobile service station blends seamlessly into its environment and has been personalized in MEDIACO’s colors.

Blocalps handled the design and manufacturing, relying on its national network of installers: Petrogest in the East, Berthet Equipements Pétroliers in the West, and Cometrol in the South.

Three stations have been delivered to Colmar, Belfort, and Epinal, and three more are under production (including two equipped with a dedicated high-pressure washer room).
