The Port of Le Havre control station, a key player in sea rescue and ship guidance, faced a recurring problem in refueling its fleet. Until now, its boats depended on the port's public station, resulting in waiting times, limited fuel availability, and the inability to use cleaner energy solutions.
To increase its autonomy and begin the process of decarbonization, the customer wanted its own private fuel station, offering diesel, HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil, a low-carbon fuel), and AdBlue.
Designed and manufactured by Blocalps, the EUROBOX container fuel station was proposed to meet this specific need.
Marketed and installed by S2EP, a petroleum installation partner, it blends perfectly into the port environment thanks to its custom configuration.
The main constraint was the location: the refueling station had to be located at the edge of the dock without interfering with the boats' trajectory to the maintenance area. To meet this challenge, we developed a remote station, housed in a stainless steel box designed in-house, incorporating:
• Station capacity: 33 m³ (20 m³ diesel, 10 m³ HVO, 3 m³ AdBlue)
• An ALX management system for badge identification and consumption monitoring
• Three 15 m reels (diesel, HVO, AdBlue)
• A system of pumps pushing the fuel into the distribution box 10 m away via underground piping.
To withstand the marine environment, the tank has a C5M anti-corrosion coating, specifically designed for coastal areas with high salinity. In addition, a black RAL finish was chosen to blend in harmoniously with the future port building.
