
With its 30,000 km of railway lines, including 2,600 km of high-speed lines, SNCF has embarked on a major modernization project of its network across France. In 2020, SNCF Réseau invested €363 million in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to carry out significant work aimed at providing customers with a high-performance infrastructure, enabling more trains to run while ensuring the network’s safety.
Track maintenance and renewal are essential for the safety and comfort of passengers. These inevitable operations are mostly carried out using railway machinery and, when possible, civil engineering equipment. Specialized work trains, such as ballast cleaners (for removing used ballast), ballast regulators, replacement trains, and diesel locomotives for maintaining track gauge clearances, are used for these tasks.
It’s important to note that rail networks were not developed in a unified manner worldwide. Therefore, the track gauge (distance between rails) can vary greatly depending on the country or railway company. However, in France, the gauge complies with the European standard.
Diesel repair locomotives travel along the railway tracks to repair track gauge clearances. But how can these locomotives be refueled as close as possible to these areas?
Another requirement from SNCF was to have the ability to relocate these fuel distribution modules while avoiding the need for underground installations at different sites.
We offered the EUROBOX above-ground mobile railway service station with dual-product distribution: GNR (Non-Road Diesel): 40,000 L, Diaxol: 3,000 L
Since Diaxol, a nitrogen oxide reduction agent, is sensitive to temperature fluctuations, this refueling station was equipped with air conditioning.
Custom-designed by the Blocalps Design Office, it includes a fuel management system connected via 3G transmission to the remote operations center in Lyon.
In isolated areas, the EUROBOX transportable service station is fully enclosed and protected against break-ins. Its pre-lacquered galvanized steel casing protects the tank and the dispenser from weather conditions, making it a functional and long-lasting investment.
