In the Czech Republic, this was the challenge faced by TWIN TRANS. Specializing in the transport and distribution of fuels, TWIN TRANS also operates refueling stations across the country. Complying with the technical and safety standards in aviation (EI JIG STANDARD 1530, which governs the manufacturing, storage, and distribution of aviation fuels at airports), TWIN TRANS transports fuels via tank wagons or specialized tanker trucks. The company owns its own refueling stations located at various airports and airfields throughout the country.
Committed to quality, safety, and environmental standards through ISO 9001, EN ISO 14001, and EN 18001 certifications, the company was seeking above-ground refueling stations that could safely store and distribute aviation fuels. The equipment also needed to be mobile to allow relocation at the end of distribution contracts.
The EUROBOX model from BLOCALPS was selected to meet the client’s needs, offering a large storage capacity (20,000 liters) and multi-product distribution. This custom-designed container solution, developed by our design office, features a compartmentalized tank holding 10,000 liters of AVGAS 100 LL and 10,000 liters of Natural-95 Gasoline, distributed by TWIN TRANS’ client (an ultralight aviation school). The tank is equipped with a double wall and a leak detector to ensure maximum safety.
Constructed with ribbed pre-lacquered galvanized steel panels, the sealed module that protects the tank and equipment of this mobile refueling station comes with a 10-year corrosion warranty. Being above-ground, it fully complies with environmental regulations for airport sites.
A reinforced aluminum slat door and a key-lock system provide complete protection. Access to the container refueling station is through a swiveling, lockable manhole access hatch with anti-theft security.
Additionally, the components of the EUROBOX (the tank and the 316 L stainless steel crimped piping, assembled with flanges) offer great modularity, making it easy to disassemble. TWIN TRANS will have a truly transportable refueling station, allowing it to relocate to other airfields in the Czech Republic once the client’s distribution contract ends.
The separation between the distribution cabin and the technical cabin ensures independence between fuel distribution for the end user and maintenance by the technical teams.
An additional feature was integrated: the EUROBOX container refueling station is equipped with a credit card payment terminal. This enables the operator to legally sell fuel and allows pilots to refuel flexibly without any minimum purchase.
