The Aspres-sur-Buëch Airfield, also known as the Chevalet Airfield, is managed by the Hautes-Alpes Department and is located on a plateau overlooking the Buëch Valley at an altitude of 832 meters. The department had two objectives: replacing an underground fuel tank with a more environmentally responsible storage solution and supporting the development of the airfield. Today, the Chevalet Airfield operates under restricted use and is not open to Public Air Traffic (CAP).
To meet these requirements, BLOCALPS developed an 8 m³ AEROBOX aviation fueling station capable of supplying UL91 unleaded aviation fuel to users, particularly ultralight aircraft operators.
This fueling station includes the following features:
- MID-compliant metrological fuel dispensing system with a bank card payment terminal, allowing both public and private use while monitoring fuel consumption
- Electronic level gauge for real-time fuel inventory monitoring
- Caged access ladder and safety guardrails to facilitate maintenance operations
- Aviation-specific components to ensure fuel quality throughout the supply chain, including stainless steel piping, internal tank coating, filtration systems, and more
The entire system is integrated into an above-ground AEROBOX containerized solution, offering significant benefits:
- A durable solution: protected by the enclosed container module, both the aviation fuel tank and station equipment are shielded from weather conditions
- A cost-effective solution: thanks to its above-ground configuration, the AEROBOX fueling station eliminates the need for underground civil engineering works and fuel tank burial
- A secure solution: equipped with an anti-intrusion rolling shutter
- A mobile solution: the AEROBOX fueling station is designed to be relocated from one site to another as operational needs evolve
- Public and private access: the computerized management system with user identification ensures secure fuel withdrawals. The AEROBOX station at Aspres Airfield is equipped with a private/public management terminal (MID compliant) with bank card payment capabilities
